Team Canada put on an impressive display at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland! Four members of Team Canada call Alberta their home and they did not disappoint! Ranked #1 in the world at 75 kg, Erica Wiebe (Dinos Wrestling Club) won all 4 of her matches to claim the gold medal! The Dinos Wrestling Club brought home an additional two medals, with Jasmine Mian winning the 48 kg bronze medal and Brittanee Laverdure taking the silver medal at 55 kg! Edmonton’s Mike Asselstine represented Canada at 61 kg, facing the eventual bronze medalist in his first match. In total, Team Canada won 12 medals, including 7 golds, the most of any nation in the competition! Congrats to Team Canada on a fantastic performance!
