Referee Clinic

Wednesday November 13th – 6:30PM:

University of Alberta (Van Vliet Centre – VVC 1-613 – UofA) – In Class/Theoretical

This class will be appropriate for provincial officials who are already certified and have a provincial ranking to maintain their provincial license and be updated of any rules or rule changes for the 2024/25 season.

**Officials who already have a provincial license and have been evaluated by an AAWOA Mentor/Clinician only need the in-class portion of the clinic – Officials who meet this criteria do not need to pay the $20 Clinic Cost** 

Thursday, November 14th – 6:30PM:
University of Alberta (Van Vliet Center – EWC Wrestling Room – under the stairs in the Butterdome – NorthEast Corner) – On-Mat/Practical

This is the on-mat evaluation of non-competitive matches.  All new referees must do practical matches to be evaluated for their understanding of the rules and regulations.  Some basic techniques will be demonstrated to recognize illegal and dangerous techniques, followed by officiating live matches. Practical evaluations must be performed to be permitted to referee in Alberta.
