NUMBER OF MATS: Minimum of 4 Mats

FORMAT: Dual Meet Format. The number of teams will determine the number of rounds.
All-Star Dual Meet. Team Canada v Team USA & Friends – Last dual of the event

AGE REQUIREMENTS: All male athletes aged 25+ as of January 1, 2025.

WEIGHT CLASSES: 58KG, 62KG, 70KG, 78KG, 88KG, 100KG, 130KG AND 130KG+**
**There will be a 2KG weight allowance for all weight classes EXCEPT 130KG+, where you MUST be over
130KG to participate
Based on the number of entrants, a team that cannot fill a weight class will automatically lose the team points for
that weight class. Multiple entrants in one weight class MAY fill in team point gaps w/ approval from Drawmaster
Wrestler weigh-ins are done AT HOME between July 27 and 29, 2025. Weigh-ins are to be submitted via email to
jeremywoolward@icloud.com

REGISTRATION FEE: If registering as a team, it’s 75.00 CDN per athlete.
If registering as an individual who is placed on a team, it’s 100.00 CDN per athlete.

STYLES WRESTLED: Freestyle and/or Greco-Roman. Prior to the dual, any two wrestlers interested in wrestling using a Greco-Roman
ruleset must notify the Head Official and the Drawmaster, who will ensure it is document and that trained
referees are present. Otherwise, the default style is Freestyle.

MATCH DURATION: 2 x 2 Minute Rounds, Stop Time

ACCOMODATIONS: Hotels are available in Cardston, Alberta, but rooms are limited.
Alternatively, hotel options exist in Lethbridge, Alberta (45 minutes away), High River & Okotoks (1hr 45 mins away)
or Calgary (2-2.5 hrs away)

AIRPORTS: Calgary International Airport (3 hours away)
Lethbridge Airport (1 hour away) – Check schedule as flights are limited in and out of Lethbridge.
Great Falls International Airport (3.5 hours away).

Regardless of where one flies into, driving to the venue will be required. If landing in Great Falls, the recommended border crossing is the 24HR crossing at Coutts, AB/Sweetgrass, MT. Alternative border crossing exists at Carway, AB, but is not 24-hour. It is recommended you purchase a flight on either Air Canada or WestJet to either Calgary or Lethbridge. Wherever possible, it is recommended you book the flight to arrive on July 31st and a departure of August 3rd.

Contact Rob or Jeremy ASAP if you will need assistance with travel to and from the airport and the event.

REFEREES: Officials from both Canada AND the United States are welcome to participate.
This is a learning / developmental tournament for junior officials. Senior officials will serve as mat controllers.
This is also a learning / developmental tournament for pairing masters & prospective pairing masters.

There will be a minimum of 3 officials per mat. Video review will be available.
United States Officials: Please send list of participants to aawofficials@gmail.com no later than June 30, 2025.

COACHES: Team Coaches should either have their NCCP Coaching Competition – Development (CAN) or Bronze Coaching Status
(US) at a minimum to serve as the Team Head Coach. Credentials to be submitted to jeremywoolward@icloud.com
as well as to aawofficials@gmail.com no later than June 30, 2025.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS: July 31st – Arrival of all teams. (All Day)
Practice mats will be available for those wishing to use them. If enough interest, a group practice could be held.
Finalizing of the draw pending last minute scratches to take place. Experienced Pairing Masters ONLY. Direction to be provided by Jane Burns
Exhibition Matches for those interested in having them. Limited on-mat referees will be available.

10:30am – 12:30pm – SESSION 1
12:30pm – 1:30pm – LUNCH
1:30pm – 4:00pm – SESSION 2
5:00pm – 8:00pm – Dinner & Social
7:00pm – 8:00pm – Exhibition Matches for those interested in having them. Limited on-mat referees will be available
Please note that the evening social will feature special appearances by both Richard Jensen of “Be A Champion In Life” as well as Frank Jasper aka Brian Shute from the 1985 ‘Vision Quest’ film. Frank is appearing as part of his “Vision Quest 40th Anniversary Tour”. The evening keynote will be provided by 2 Time CFL Grey Cup winner, Angus Reid. All three guests will be present throughout the entire 2 day event.
