The entire Cadet National Team was also on attendance. All of our athletes from Alberta, who were in attendance, are members of the National Team.
Sarah Gregory wrestled tough and proudly brought a silver medal back to Alberta. Grace Chambers wrestled well in a tough weight class winning a great match. Josh Skory was wrestling great until a shoulder injury forced him out of action. Connor McNeice won a gold on the 58 cadet weight class against a tough field of American wrestlers. He won a thrilling final against an Iowa athlete who placed third in that state. Daniel Coles battled through a tough bracket, outscoring 3 American opponents 36-6, winning the gold medal in the 63 kg weight class.
This group will stay in Ontario this week as they continue to train at the Pan Am Camp. These athletes will train hard and also get to watch Canada’s best compete at the Pan American Games. At the completion of this camp, Connor will continue straight to Italy where he will train with members of the Cadet and Junior National Team.
